Project Profile
Chevy Chase Pavilion Facade, Garage, & Roof Consulting
Washington, D.C.
Chevy Chase Pavilion is a mixed-use facility located at 5335 Wisconsin Avenue, NW in Washington, D.C. The high-profile property includes a hotel, office building, and retail areas. The variety of tenants and the high level of use necessitate careful consideration when implementing restoration projects. FEA has provided Akridge with engineering consulting services for garage repairs, roof replacement, and façade restoration projects at the property. The conventionally reinforced parking garage is located beneath the building. FEA performed a complete garage assessment, developed a design, and provided contract administration during the first phase of repairs completed in 2008. FEA worked with the client to identity a 5-Year Plan to accomplish the necessary garage repairs while maintaining a feasible yearly budget. FEA is contracted to continue as the engineer for this project throughout the planned repairs. FEA also completed an assessment of the 65,000 square foot roof, provided a roof replacement design, and is currently assisting the owner with construction fully underway. FEA completed construction monitoring services during a 2008 façade sealant replacement project, as well.
