Project Profile
VSP Vision Care LEED-EB Assessment and Certification
Rancho Cordova, CA
FEA led a multi-service Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for Existing Buildings (EB) project for one of VSP’s headquarters buildings at their main campus in Rancho Cordova, California. The building is approximately 152,000 square feet and was originally constructed in 1992.
FEA worked closely with the VSP Facilities team to identify policies and practices that would help them reach their goal of LEED-EB Platinum certification as well as enhance the performance of their facility.
FEA’s scope included assessing the building’s status for certification under the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED-EB rating system. Our assessment outlined the prerequisites and qualified points the facility met based on their current practices. We also identified sustainable practices that will increase their LEED-EB score.
FEA validated baseline energy use information and benchmarked the energy performance with Energy Star. We also performed a Level 1 energy audit which identified and prioritized energy conservation measures.
During the certification process, FEA developed tools to help track and measure energy use, water use, waste stream, purchases, and the affects of implemented measures on building occupants. We also assisted VSP with developing a Building Operations Plan.
