James P. Whittaker, P.E. Appointed President of FEA
Fairfax,
VA January 5, 2005 - James P. Whittaker, P.E.
was named President of Facility Engineering Associates (FEA) due to his outstanding performance and professional
commitment to the facilities industry and FEA. Mr. Whittaker
earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
from the University of Vermont and his Master of Science
degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado.
He has used his technical background to develop FEA's
unique perspective on facility asset management and facility
capital investment methodologies.
During his 19 years
in the facilities industry, Mr. Whittaker has managed
numerous facility engineering projects in the UK, Central
and South America and throughout the United States. Mr.
Whittaker teaches courses in Facility Management Automation,
Operations and Maintenance, Project Management, Facility
Asset Management, and Building Systems and Technology
in George Mason University's Facility Management Certification
Program. He routinely speaks at national conferences
including: International Facility Management Association
(IFMA) World Workplace, Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers (APPA) National Leadership Forum, National
Association of State Facilities Administrators (NASFA)
and Building Officials and Code Administrators International
(BOCA). He also developed IFMA's Technology Competency
Course and teaches Information Systems for Facility Managers
at the APPA Institute.
