Facility Engineering Associates, P.C. (FEA) Wins Third Place for Projects of the Year
May 12, 2008 - Facility Engineering Associates, PC (FEA) proudly accepts the Third Place award from Sika Sarnafil for Project of the Year - Low Slope Roof.
Sika Sarnafil, Inc. manufactures durable roofing and waterproofing systems. Each year, roofing companies that use Sika Sarnafil’s products submit their most challenging projects to be reviewed for awards in the following categories; steep slope, low slope, waterproofing, and sustainability. The submitted projects are evaluated based on the quality of workmanship, extent of complexity, challenges met, and design distinctiveness.
In 2007, Commonwealth Building Systems, LLC was awarded the contract to replace the existing roofs for the shops at Prudential Center in Boston, MA based on the scope of work developed by FEA. FEA identified the sources of leaks and developed a plan to replace the roof in several phases. In addition to replacing the roofs, FEA specified a Sika Sarnafil membrane to replace an exterior insulation finishing system below the roof skylights. Members on the FEA team included Rebecca A. Gutierrez, Project Manager; Michael P. Thompson, Lead Design; Steven P. Bentz, Lead Design; and James L. Justus, Associate-in-Charge. This project was successful in meeting the owner’s needs and working around the retail operations within the Prudential Center.
