Howard Hughes Medical Institute Commissioning Consulting Services

Facility Engineering Associates, P.C. (FEA) was recently engaged by Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) as the Commissioning Agent for the new structure on the headquarters campus. HHMI is undergoing an expansion project which includes building a new structure which will be attached to the existing structure. The owners of the building have decided to pursue LEED® - NC Certification for the new building, striving for LEED® Gold certification.
Our services include documenting the Owner’s requirements regarding systems to be commissioned (HVAC, lighting, energy efficiency, indoor environment), developing the Commissioning Plan, which shall be incorporated into construction documents by the A/E team. During Construction Documents phase, FEA will review construction documents for general conformance with the Commissioning Plan and modify the Commissioning Plan as required. FEA will also develop a commissioning specification to be included in the Contract Documents. During the Construction Phase, FEA will review contractor submittals for general conformance with the Owner’s Design Intent and Commissioning Plan and verify installation and performance of systems to be commissioned.
