Project Profile
Jackson County Family Court System Environmental
Assessments & Project Management Planning
Facility Engineering Associates was contracted to assess the condition and estimate
repair and renovation costs for approximately 20 buildings and related facilities
of the Jackson County Family Court System. Buildings evaluated included
office buildings, juvenile detention facilities, training schools, court buildings,
support buildings, and group homes. Components evaluated included site
systems, structural systems, exterior building envelopes, roof systems, interior
finishes, kitchen equipment, security systems, mechanical and
electrical systems, fire and life safety systems, accessibility, and Phase I
Environmental Site Assessments of each building.
Capital
expenditure forecasts and financial plans were developed for each building and
rolled up into a summary for the entire system. FEA used our internally
developed Integrated Facility Management Information System (IFMIS) software
to capture, store, and organize the data.
The Phase I ESA included
a review of geologic and hydro-geologic conditions, historical research, regulatory
record search, area reconnaissance, and a detailed site inspection. The Phase
I ESA led to an extensive review of nearby leaking underground storage tank sites.
